WORKS AS IT SHOULD!,
Hush is Lidocaine 4% which I think is the highest you can get over the counter in the US.
I probably have about 30ish percent of my body covered in tattoos & I have never used a numbing agent before.
I decided to look a little into it after I finished my first 5 hour session on my chest. In my opinion the chest has been the worst so far, I have both my calfs, sides of my legs, both of my feet, a large thigh piece, half sleeve, and a few smaller ones on my finger, wrists & inside of my foot and the chest beats them all.
So I decided to try this stuff despite the huge fluctuation in reviews.
If applied properly it should work just fine, meaning it will kinda dull the uncomfortableness for a period of time. I applied about 75% of the 2oz bottle for my final 2 hour session on my chest & I most defiantly noticed a difference right away. I would say it started to fade away about 30 minutes in and was completely gone in about 45 minutes, which I kinda expected considering it’s only 4%.
All and all it was worth the 20 bucks just make sure you apply it like the directions say otherwise it wont work nearly as well.
DON’T RUB IT IN LIKE LOTION, just glob it on and put some saran wrap on it an hour before your tattoo starts & you should be golden. Also keep in mind this product does have a pretty strong smell, it’s vary minty like Vix Vapor Rub.
I’m going to give the product 5 stars to even out the playing field, just because there are so many ignorant people that claim this doesn’t work at all because they have never gotten a tattoo prior to using this gel, well unless they have some sort of weird immunity or tolerance to Lidocaine, but that’s unlikely.
I know I will reorder this when I start the line work on the rest of my sleeve later this month unless I find a different product that has a higher Lidocaine level that’s just as easy to get my hands on.
I hope this rant/ review helped you come to a decision!

Great product to get the tattoo started…wish it lasted longer,
Applying it is easy, but Hush doesn’t start doing it’s thing until you cover it with plastic wrap (I tried it without, and nothing happened). Once the plastic wrap is on you can feel a cold/hot sensation on the skin. Sometimes if feels a little itchy and uncomfortable, but then eventually you don’t even notice it’s on. I’ve used it twice on a very large section and I’m pretty sure I still have another 1-2 uses of it. It may be a small bottle but seems to be worth the money.
The first time I used it, I applied it an hour before my appointment. It worked well. I could still feel the stab of the needle but it was beyond tolerable. Only problem I had with applying it was that I didn’t know exactly how the tattoo was going to fall (since we were doing the outline), so not every place was covered. You can really feel the difference on spots that have the gel on and spots that do not. So, you know, be generous with it on your first appointment.
For the second session we planned to do some block coloring, I applied it an hour and a half before my appointment. Got to the tattoo room and removed the wrapping before my artist was ready to get started…. not a great idea since I waited about 20 minutes. I essentially wasted 20 minutes of the product before it was go-time. It’s not a huge deal, but if you want the maximum effect, you need to keep it covered until it’s time. I’m not sure if leaving it on longer made a difference, but I figure it can’t hurt!

Works as if it contains ingredients of majic & Voodoo. No pain & heals faster.,
My tattoo artist commented on how little irritation there was from the tattooing and I could tell that it was healing 2-3 days faster than normal in the first few days. At two weeks out it was done healing with no issues.
I use it differently than the directions and it seems to work wonderfully for me.
30-40 minutes before
1. Wash and dry your arm using very hot water. (if it’s easy I shave the area first)
2. Rub in a good amount to the area you want to be numb. Make sure that you rub it in so there isn’t a bunch left on top you want your skin to absorb it.
3. Have a piece of saran wrap ready to go and a few pieces of tape already pulled out.
4. Put on another coat of Hush but don’t rub it in. Just leave a healthy layer on top.
5. Put the Satan wrap on tight not allowing in air or goop out.
6. Have your artist cut off the wrap & prepare you as normal. (make sure you warn them h they have gloves on so they don’t end up with numb fingers)
7. Feel no pain, have less redness & swelling, heal faster.
Few weeks after I used hush the first time I ended up burning myself pretty bad. I used hush instead of going to a doctor and it ended up saving me a trip since it was only the pain that was the problem. Shockingly it made a very painful burn bearable for about 4 days (reapplied) until it naturally went away.
Everyone put so much emphasis on the numbing part I don’t think the other side of the gets enough credit. They use a number of natural products herbs and oils to make sure that your skin heals quickly and you don’t have the normal irritation and blow outs you might have from the tattoo.
