Heather’s Best TATTOO AfterCare

Take good care of your fresh tattoo’s using these methods! Ive been getting tattoo’s for over 20 years and Ive learned the best way to care for them. Im sharing that all with you so you have a great healing experience which will maximize your colors and smoothness. Treat a fresh tattoo like an open wound and dont allow it to become contaminated the first 3 days are most important. Try to avoid sleeping on your tattoo so it does not ooze and stick to the bed sheets. Use the products I have mentioned to keep it germ free and nourished. Don’t over clean your tattoo or keep anything else on it besides the polysporin for the first 3 days. Then you can use the lotion or salve mentioned. Feet tattoo’s are prone to infections so keep clean and dont wear shoes over your tattoo till the soreness subsides. Have someone with clean hands care for your back tattoo’s. If possible don’t let clothes touch your fresh tattoo, keep it open to air so there’s no friction. Avoid long showers, baths, swimming pools, and hot tubs during the healing process and after its healed use sunscreen to always maintain the vivid color! Taking care of your tattoo is very important.. Its with you for life 🙂

  1. Hey I just got a tattoo about 4 hours ago according to my tattoo studio is telling me not to remove my bandage in till the morning because they have special pads that absorb all the plasma and whatever else coming out of my tat. should I listen to them or take it off?

  2. Have you heard of bandages like Saniderm?  If so, what are your thoughts on them?

The bandage is a clear, flexible, strong plastic material.  It is waterproof but BREATHABLE so the tattoo is protected, but the skin is able to heal.  It prevents a lot of problems like itching and scabbing, and then you don't have to worry about washing and applying so many products which don't protect the skin, and can get on your clothes and stuff.
